Philosophy and data retention policy

Formsort is not a database - and therefore, we are unable to be your source of truth. This makes you the sole owner of your form responder's data.

Our goal is to help you collect responder data, and then reliably send it on to you, so that you can use other databases, tools, and workflows reliably.

To support this, Formsort:

While Formsort is not a database, we still adhere to a Data Retention policy so your users can return to partially-completed forms to finish them.

This response data is encrypted and stored in a secure S3 bucket for a 21 day retention period, from the the time of submission.

Given the default configuration of returning responder behavior, if responders abandon and return to a flow within the 21-day time frame, their answers will be present. The 21-day window resets upon returning to a flow, as long as new answers are submitted.
